Sub: Protection of Rights and Privileges of Practitioners of
ISM- regarding
Ref:
1) Indian Medicine Central Council Act,1970.
2) F.No. 8-5/96-AY dt. 18.10.96. of the Secretary
Central Council of Indian Medicine, New Delhi.
With reference to the Subject above mentioned we would
like to draw your kind attention. There are Thousands of
Institutionally qualified / trained B.A.M.S. Doctors in
the state both in Govt. and Private. We were thought major
portions of Modern Medical theories, practical and training
in modern hospitals during our curriculum. We were taught
to use modern medical equipments like microscope, stethoscope,
thermo meters, B.P.Appartus, X-ray lobby, ENT Scopes, Knee hammers,
proctoscope etc.. We were also given Training in handling minor
surgeries, gynecology, obstetrics and emergency managements.
The Central Council of Indian Medicine, Which is the highest authority for
Indian Medicine & Homeopathy in its resolution has published the Protection
of Rights and Privileges of Practitioners of ISM&H.
Besides this, Every Indian Medicine wing in Tamil Nadu Govt.
Sector has been Provided with modern Medical equipments for their use
including laboratory facilities and X-ray facility for the perusal of practitioners of ISM.
It is learned that along with quack eradication some of the
qualified practitioners of ISM are subjected to enquiring and arrest
proceeding by police and Govt. Authorities.
Enclosing herewith the copy of the letter from the Secretary
Central council of Indian Medicine New Delhi to Substantiate our Status & rights .
So, we request you not to subject qualified Ayurvedic Doctors in
Tamil Nadu to the enquiring and arrest proceeding.
